Our biggest annual event, La Posada Toy Giveaway, took place on December 23rd. We had another successful year of providing families in our community a memorable holiday. Our parking lot was transformed into a Christmas wonderland—filled with bouncy houses, warm food, piñatas, gifts, raffle prizes and many fun games. We had volunteers help out with event registration, greeting participants, and serving the delicious food donated by local businesses. Since the beginning of La Posada Dr. Adam Strassberg has volunteered his time to be Santa, while his daughter and son played the part of Santa’s elves.

Over the years AJ has received valuable support from community partners. Univision Channel 14 provided media exposure while also engaging participants with brilliant dance competitions and other interactive activities. Cole Hardware and Bi-Rite Market helped by setting up toy collection bins that shoppers filled with gifts for children worth thousands of dollars. The Family Giving Tree allowed us to fulfill specific gift requests from 500 children. Lastly, we’d like to recognize Green Toys and their donation of locally made, high-quality, eco-conscious toys.

La Posada Toy Giveaway has become a holiday tradition that the AJ staff looks forward to every year. It is an event that brings people together from all walks of life in a moment of joy, kindness, and solidarity. We hope you can join us in this year.
